Our Pahiatua Clinic is headed by Dr Steve Harvey and Dr Rachael Fouhy.  Steve has serviced the area for 30 plus years and is married to a past teacher of our local community.  Rachael joined Tararua Vet Services nine years ago, met and married a local sheep and beef farmer and is now busy juggling a busy vet clinic, loyal customers/friends and a young family.

Pahiatua Tararua Veterinary Services has two companion animal vets, three lovely nurses, and seven large animal vets. Each Veternarian has their own passion for differing veterinary fields giving the practice a wealth of knowledge.

Our purpose built building houses up to date veterinary machinery and equipment. Our showroom has a large selection of pet accessories, nutritional food, flea and worm products.

Moana's love for animals often means she know's your animals name but has to ask for yours.  Moana's caring nature and makes her the ideal person to greet you and ensure your animal is in the best hands.

 

Vets

Steve Harvey: B.V.Sc. Massey 1974 (Director)

Steve has a vast amount of local knowledge as well as experience overseas. Steve is a Intelact Dairy Consultant.

Rachael Fouhy: B.V.Sc (Dist) Massey 2005 (Director)

Rachael has a broad knowledge of all aspects of Veterinary work but her specific interest lies in sheep & beef being a sheep n beefie herself. Rachael knows what is going on when and where. Using Animal Health Planners, she can ensure your farm is ticking all the boxes to minimise illness and maximise production.

Karen Woodley: B.V.Sc. Massey 1989

Karen's knowledge is very broad - dairy, deer, equine and small animal.  Karen has a interest in birds so is also excellent for our wildlife calls.   Karen is also a supervisory vet for deer velveting and deer TB Testing.

Moira Fergus: B.V.Sc. Massey 1996

Between producing a family, Moria is our wealth of knowledge of all medicines. Prodominantly in the small animal area, Moria does her darndest to find a cure for your animal.

Moria is now back from Maternity Leave much to the delight of her faithful clients.

Joanne Purdie B.B.Sc 2014

Jo is our bundle of joy that enjoys all aspects of veterinary work.  She is caring and compassionate in our small animal department, enjoys a horse or goat call, and is passionate about dairy systems to ensure animal herd health is a priority.  Oh and she just loves traveling out to the back of beyond to see our sheep and beef clientelle (infact, your her favourite).

 

Alex Bowes

Alex hails from England as has vetted in many countries.  Alex's passion for dairy farming took her to Vietnam with Totally Vets which was and experience and adventure.  Enjoying being part of the TVG team, Alex joined us at Pahiatua in 2016 and has been a hit with farmers and our staff as she shares her focus on infectious disease prevention.  It creates very interesting conversation.

Rebecca Weal B.V.Sc 2017

Rebecca is a New Graduate Vet who started with us in January.  We love the enthusiasm new grads bring to our team as they challenge what and why we do things inour ever changing world.  Rebecca comes from a Dairy farming background who have recently gone robotic.  We welcome you to Pahiatua Rebecca.

Courtney Tarttelin B.V.Sc 2017

Courtney is a New Graduate Vet who started with us in Janurary.   We love the enthusiasm new grads bring to our team as they challenge what and why we do things in our ever changing world.   Courtney has a family background of medicine and stockmanship. Lesley Allen: Cert in Vet Nursing 2005

Lesley is our experienced Vet Nurse who has been with us for over 11 years. Lesley is instrumental in faecal egg counting, surgical anasethsia and assisting with complex surgeries. Lesley is often called to assist in after hours emergencies.

Sarah Mahoney: Cert of Vet Nursing 2004

With over 11 years experience, Sarah is often the person you get on the phone with your animal enquiries.  Sarah has a passion for surgical nursing and radiography.  Sarah plays a key role in patient follow up ensuring your pet is recovering well at home.

Lorraine Emery

Lorraine is a long time community Dairy Farmer.  Lorraine, alongside our Vets,  ensures our Farmers are getting regular attention through our Animal Health Planners which aim to minimise illness and maximise animal performance.

Jade Sowry.

Jade is the lovely voice you will hear when you ring with your emergency or to book a routine large animal call.  She is magic on the diary ensuring Vets make it out to you as soon as we can manage.   Often a juggling act, but Jade is always trying to provide you with service promptly.

Lisa Roberts

Lisa keeps both our clients and staff in line to ensure our accounting system works smoothly and efficiently.  Lisa's sheep and beef farming background ensures she has a genuine knowledge of what and when things are in place.

Dena Hunt

Our Practice Manager Dena Hunt comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and experience in both the farming sector and rural retail, Dena and husband Ken have a sheep & beef farm in Mangamaire and are long-standing members of the Tararua Community.
